Bee Facts

Bees pollinate a third of our food supply, but colonies have been disappearing at alarming rates in many parts of the world. This is likely due to the accumulated effects of parasitic mites, viral / bacterial diseases, and exposure to pesticides and herbicides.

In the video below, Marla Spivak, a professor of entomology at the University of Minnesota, discusses the science behind declining bee populations.

This is an excellent use of 15 minutes of your time to learn what is happening to pollinators, why it's happening, the potential impact to humans and what you can do to help.
